“As a top level athlete, I always need to be feeling at my best, both in body and mind. With Feldenkrais I get this balance after every lesson—being better connected with what my body is doing and how it's feeling. The day after I had a private lesson, we had an on snow training session and I noticed right away that my skiing was effortless. I had better feel and connection on my skis and in my boots. Also, my energy wasn't depleted at the end of the day. It was just amazing!”

“Feldenkrais movement lessons teach us how to properly move and use our bodies. We can then take this new awareness and integrate newly learned body movements into our sport and training, both on field and in our gym sessions.”

“I am convinced that the Feldenkrais sessions were the key to not only remaining injury free for the 1st time in 4 years, but also qualifying for Ironman Hawaii. I would have never been able to have maintained my winter and summer training schedule without your help. Looking at the pictures from Ironman I can really see a change in my posture on the run and there is no doubt that that is what enabled me to run a 3:34 marathon.”

“I’ve had wonderful success with the Feldenkrais Method, both as a hands on modality and as a set of awareness movements that have got me back in touch with pain free activity. After trying all sorts of different modalities (Physiotherapy, Chiropractic care, Pilates, weight training, and massage) I went to Feldenkrais as a last resort. I wish I had gone as a first resort! After a number of lessons with Irene I was able to move freely. My back pain abated and I was able to resume running, biking and swimming—which as a triathlete makes up most of my training. With consistent practice of the awareness through movement lessons I was able to take 30 minutes off of my Half Ironman bike split, leading to a personal best. I also achieved a personal best marathon time—relatively pain free thanks in large part to Irene and the Feldenkrais Method.”

“After one session with Irene, my squat technique improved significantly and I was not only able to go deeper in my squat but also lift more weight due to a greater flexibility in my hips and more power from the correct places.”

“I've got out of the classes what it said it would 'better movement, thinking, sitting, standing—I love it. I tell everyone I get a chance about it, and share the classes with my family. I hope there are more—Thanks for the freedom!”

“I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to improve posture, recover from injuries and general awareness of the body. I've notice positive changes to my posture: my shoulders are less rounded, I walk taller without having to tell myself to - this posture has been naturally maintained since taking the classes!”

“Feldenkrais sessions allow me to discover easier ways to carry and move myself through space while becoming more focused, calm and mentally present. With this awareness my body moves more freely and with less strain allowing me to focus less on my body and be more conscious of that surrounding me.”

“After having suffered through lower back pain for many years due to two herniated discs and back surgery, I had not been able to lie flat on my back with my legs long and without support for two years. After my first class with Irene I came away without a backache and able to lie flat without support for the first time in a long time!”

“Simply put, Feldenkrais is the solution. Almost three years ago I landed on my head snowboarding—my neck was severely hurt and this eventually led to chronic back issues. After the injury I tried all types of treatments in hopes of making a full recovery—I experienced temporary pain relief—but was never pain free. Approximately 6 months ago I was introduced to Irene and the Feldenkrais Method at her Tight Back, Hips and Hamstrings Workshop. I entered the room, was handed a mat, and began following instructions on very different movements. I also began to gain an understanding and awareness of my pain. After the workshop I stood up and was taller and without pain. For the first time since my injury I walked with ease and balance. Feldenkrais is now part of my daily routine. Every week I get stronger, more flexible and move with more ease. If you have an injury, back problem or general pain in your body, Feldenkrais is the solution.”

“Feldenkrais sessions with Irene have helped me connect with my body and have left me amazed at such subtle and gentle movements can make such a large difference. These lessons have opened up a new awareness and respect for the incredible healing and learning capacities of my middle-aged body. I often leave a session with a renewed sense of possibility, hope and opportunity. This is very different from the old school of frustration, pain and limitation which have accompanied my previous "healing" times. I'm also grateful fro my last accident; because of it I tried something different and Feldenkrais have opened up a brand new way of "being" in my body.”

“I had chronic back pain in my lumbar area for quite some time, and shortly after the pain came, so did problems with my sciatic nerve. I went to massage therapy, physiotherapy and even a chiropractor to help ease and rid the pain. Finally a person I work with told me about Feldenkrais (and Irene) and after my second visit with her, my back and sciatica was better. I'm doing the exercises Irene devised for me on a regular basis and am almost 100%.”

“I have been active in various sports for the whole of my 50 years and
luckily have never been seriously injured; however I do seem to get a
number of overuse injuries that do tend to sideline me for a short period of time. I have seen Irene for sore neck, tight hips and hamstrings, and an SI joint
malfunction—after each session I leave with greater range of motion,
and am beginning to leave the sessions with a better understanding
of how the body can move efficiently. Still not sure of why it works but it?fs
working for me.”

“Five years ago after a head on car collision, I was diagnosed with
whiplash and my neck and back pain have gone from mild to severe. It has been a roller coaster ride; when the pain would start to subside something would trigger the pain to return, I have been to chiropractic, massage and physiotherapy, all these treatments proved effective in the short term, however I was always in need of
another session. Since practicing Feldenkrais I have learned how to move my body and to avoid potentially exposing myself to a trigger. The pain has become less frequent, some days I don't even think about the neck and I leave every Feldenkrais session happier in the knowledge that I am getting better.”

“About 5 years ago a paragliding accident left me with multiple injuries consisting of a broken pelvis, spine and both ankles, not to mention a bruised ego and lose of identity. I went through multiple surgeries, along with complications and chronic pain that seem to be relentless. I was left with severe physical limitations and I had to find a new sense of self, which for me was a long road. I have had a lot of success with other forms of rehab, but kept coming against pain and a sense of missing something else in the big picture on how to evolve my function and life. I eventually started going to group Feldenkrais classes in the autumn of 2007, and now feel different about myself. The method has given me simple and effective ways of giving myself more mobility, fluidity and less pain in my daily living. If I do find myself in pain then I am less scared—this is partially due to the fact that when I do Feldenkrais I always leave the class feeling joyful—something very foreign since the accident. I now have a new sense of what it feels like to be happy. I am more positive and self confident in myself, which comes from a sense of finding new possibilities of movement within me. I leave the lessons with a bubbly feeling welling up inside. I leave able to walk more easily and fluidly with a desire to go out and dance!”
